The Academy’s Tuition Policy
|
What your tuition purchases |
|
Your tuition pays for
the Academy’s operating expenses, teachers’ and staff salaries, teacher preparation time, building maintenance
and improvements, teaching materials and equipment, technology in the office and classroom, recital theater costs, rehearsal
instruction and supervision in the theater and in the studio, at recital time. Your
classes each week are included in your tuition cost, but are only a part of the dance experience for which your tuition pays. Tuition is charged monthly with no exceptions.
Months may include 3, 4, or 5 classes, depending on the configuration of the calendar. |

Registration fee and monthly tuition |
|
A
registration fee of 25.00 per family is required on September 1st of each dance
year. Monthly tuition is due on the first day of the month, and the first day
of each subsequent month. Tuition is delinquent on the 15th of each
month. Students will not be admitted
to class until delinquent tuitions (after the 15th) are resolved. If
tuition is delinquent, a $10.00 late fee will be added for the month. Failure
to pay tuition monthly will result in a re-registration requirement. No refunds
will be issued; there will be no exceptions. |

Make-up classes |
|
A make-up card will
be issued by each dancer’s teacher when the dancer returns to class after an absence.
The teacher will specify the class and time on the card for a suitable make-up.
The dancer must present the card to the teacher at the time he/she enters the pre-arranged make-up class. No dancers will be admitted for make-up classes without a card signed by their teacher. Make-up classes will be available to each dancer at a limit of 8 classes per year. Make-up cards are not issued for pre-announced and arranged studio closures on holidays. |

Dancers in Performing
Groups, which tour and perform throughout the year at exciting venues outside of the San
Luis Obispo community, will pay a yearly $150.00
fee. This fee covers choreography, coaching, performance arrangements and administration,
performance staff supervision at all venues, rehearsal hours, and all other costs associated with this lively adventure! Payment of the Performing Group fee is due in February of each dance year. |
